Chapter 1365

“The patient’s blood pressure has stabilized!”

“The heartbeat has returned to normal!”

“His fingers are moving!”

Each report lifted the weight on everyone’s chest, bit by bit, pulling their spirits back toward hope.

Just as Cole walked back to the group, the nurse hurried out again—with the brightest news yet. “All of the patient’s vital signs have returned to normal!”

“Thank heavens! Thank heavens!” Diane cried, overwhelmed with relief.

Ruben let out a laugh that echoed down the hall, tapping his cane against the floor. “Didn’t I tell you? It’s our sheer luck to have Elliana join our family!”

Bertram and Emmanuel exchanged thrilled looks, admiration written across their faces. “Dr. Atkinson truly earns her reputation.”

Cole exhaled a long, shaky breath. Then without any delay, he pulled out his phone and sent a text.

“Mom, Dad made it through.” Cole typed, unable to hold back the relief in his words as he texted Sophie, still miles away in Delta.

When Sophie found out that Elliana had saved Jarrett’s life, excitement rushed through her so quickly that she called Cole immediately.

Cole had just pressed the answer button when the emergency room doors suddenly opened, and Elliana stepped out, looking completely drained.

“Elliana, you really are the Evans family’s guardian angel!” Ruben approached first, reaching out and gripping her hand with both of his.

After a brief pause, Diane walked over. “Elliana, thank you. We truly mean it.”

“You don’t need to thank me, Ruben, Diane. We’re family, and saving Jarrett was something I should do.” As Elliana spoke, she pulled down her mask and looked at the elderly couple, who could not stop crying from relief. “Although Jarrett’s condition is stable for the moment, it remains very precarious. He has been drowning in grief for years, and he no longer wants to fight to recover. If his condition worsens again, I might not be able to save him a second time.”

“Then what are we supposed to do?” Diane asked, her voice tight with raw concern.

Elliana said, “He needs emotional support. If we can lift his spirits, it will help him more than any medication.”

Hearing that, worry returned to Diane’s face. “Jarrett’s greatest pain is not knowing what happened to Sophie. As long as she’s missing, he will never truly be at peace. There’s no way to avoid that truth.”

Ruben let out a long, heavy sigh. Sophie had disappeared for so many years without leaving a single clue. To the Evans family, she felt more like someone who had already passed away, and they no longer dared to believe she could ever be found.

Because they knew the truth, Bertram and Emmanuel both turned their attention to Cole, silently waiting to see how he would respond.

Elliana shifted her gaze toward Cole and stayed silent as she waited for him to decide what to do next.
